Thanks to the amazing work of researchers and medical advancement, chronic kidney disease is no longer the death sentence it was just decades ago.
These advances would not have happened if it weren't for the thousands of hours and millions of dollars spent on basic and clinical medical research.
Research explores all aspects of a patient’s wellbeing, from kidney function itself to factors that delay the progression of kidney disease and influence transplant longevity, as well as the impact of exercise and diet on kidney health.
Impacts and Outcomes Reports
Every year our impact report on research highlights the investments made by The Kidney Foundation into all aspects of kidney health, disease, and treatment.
The Medal for Research Excellence is awarded annually to a Canadian researcher who is recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in kidney research.
A large number of community members contribute each year by acting as peer reviewers, reviewing and selecting the best research projects for funding through our research competitions, and contributing to our partnership programs.
