Research is the beginning of all scientific advances.
It opens the door to a better future for patients living with kidney disease and their families. Our Foundation was established in 1964 by a group of people committed to addressing the lack of research being conducted into kidney-related diseases.
Some of the finest researchers in the world are in Canada and they depend on us to fund their important work. Our National Research Program has grown to become one of the most important sources of funding for scientists conducting kidney-related research, and we leverage the value of our investment to collaborate with other research-related organizations and funders to more broadly support research discoveries in Canada.
The Impact of Research
Thanks to the amazing work of researchers and medical advancement, chronic kidney disease is no longer the death sentence it was just decades ago.
When you participate in research, you help researchers learn more about what it is like to live affected by kidney disease and move us closer to change for future generations.
We have a national research fund to encourage research that advances current knowledge pertaining to the kidney, diseases of the kidney, organ donation and transplantation.
