The Kidney Foundation is here to provide emotional support and resources to help people live well with kidney disease.
Peer Support groups allow you to talk to others with similar life experiences about what to expect when learning to live with kidney disease. Groups currently meet virtually by phone or through video-conferencing and are facilitated by trained facilitators who live with kidney disease or are caregivers. Our volunteers and participants do not offer medical advice, but they can tell you about their experience with kidney disease and how they balance family life, work and social activities. They'll be able to answer many of your questions because they've been there too.
Everyone is welcome to our groups, including family members and loved ones! "Open" groups meet monthly and discuss a variety of topics of interest to the participants. A variety of specialty groups support specific needs or stages of the kidney journey such as Transplant Connect, Living with Reduced Kidney Function and many more.
