Ontario Kidney Walk Raises over $711,000

The kidney community stepped up across Ontario on September 25^th for The Kidney Foundation’s signature event - the Kidney Walk.  Participants raised over $711,000 to invest in high-caliber research and crucial support programs to help ease the burden of kidney disease.

“We are truly overwhelmed by the amazing support of our kidney walkers and their many donors” said Anthony Tirone, Executive Director of The Kidney Foundation’s Ontario Branch. “The walk is the highlight of year for many of us, and while we couldn’t gather in person again this year, we witnessed the strength and resilience of our kidney community. It was truly inspiring to see so many families, friends and partners in renal care show such their commitment and support for their loved ones and support the work of the Foundation,” he added.

Walk teams were encouraged to gather in smaller groups and walk in their communities wearing their Kidney Walk t-shirts with pride.  One hundred and sixty walkers reached Champion status, each raising over $1000.

The walks would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of our kidney community.
