Together Strong: Register. Tell Your Family. Be Inspired.

The Kidney Foundation is proud to be a community partner of Green Shirt Day April 7.

Inspired by the generous act of Logan Boulet, one of the sixteen who lost their lives in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash of April 2018, Green Shirt Day is dedicated to raising organ donor awareness & registration.

In the days and weeks that followed of the tragic accident, over 100,000 people registered to become organ donors inspired by one young hockey player’s decision to donate his organs. The phenomenon, dubbed the “Logan Boulet Effect”, represents the largest number of Canadians ever to register as organ donors as the result of a single event or person.

There are currently 4,300 people on the waiting list for an organ transplant. ¾ of them need a kidney. Find out why Canada needs more organ donors.
