Kidney Walk 2020 - Thank you for having our back!

This past September, the kidney community in Manitoba joined together for the annual Kidney Walk.  The Walk looked a little bit different this year, with many participants walking with their families and teams in their own neighbourhoods, at local parks or in their yards in communities across the province.

Walks took place in Morden (September 13th ) and Brandon (September 20th) with the final Walk in Winnipeg on September 27th, although the gathering was cancelled, the celebration remained!  Over 120 participants raised a total of $82,000 for the Kidney Foundation.

This year, we were honoured to have 16 Kidney Walk Champions including first time participants Megan Brett, Alison Mitchell and Melissa Hollands.

These 16 Kidney Walk Champions are supporters who exemplify commitment and caring by fundraising $1,000 or more to make a tangible difference in the lives of the 1 in 9 Manitobans living with kidney disease.

A special thank you to the 2020 Manitoba Kidney Walk Champions:
Cheryl Batchelor, Karlee Batchelor, Megan Brett, Donovan DeBattista, Blake Forbes, Melissa Hollands, Russell Kossack, Geri Lowe, David McIsaac, Alison Mitchell, Marlene Prosser, Marilyn Sandercock, Evelyn Smith, Nathanyel Terrace, David Urquhart, and Don Whitmore

Kidney Walks are a time when those living with kidney disease and their loved ones, see that they are not alone in their experience. Instead of that face to face interaction found at a traditional walk, the Foundation encourage people to 'Walk their own Way' and share videos and photos from their walk to celebrate, honour and advocate for kidney health and organ donation.

Although the walk has passed, you can still take a stroll with your loved ones to celebrate those who are affected by Kidney disease and donate to the Kidney Foundation.

You can donate online at kidneywalkmb.ca until December 31st or send a donation to our offices.
