The Kidney Foundation, Manitoba Branch thanks Red River Co-op Ltd. for their generous 3-year commitment to helping individuals with kidney disease in need of short-term financial assistance (STFA).

An annual contribution of $5,000 in gift cards (2021, 2022 & 2023) will support individuals in rural and urban communities that are challenged with financial barriers and require renal friendly groceries or must travel for life sustaining dialysis.

“The STFA Program is the only one of its kind available to patients in urgent need who are experiencing a financial emergency due to increased costs related to kidney disease. In most circumstances, patients are low income and are in very precarious financial situations. The Kidney Foundation offers vital funds to patients who have nowhere else to turn and are unable to pay for basic needs (renal-friendly food, gas to drive to treatment, utility bills, etc.),” explains Armando Versace, Director, Programs and Communications at The Kidney Foundation, Manitoba Branch.

Thanks to Red River Co-op Ltd., The Kidney Foundation will provide vital financial support to individuals who are affected by kidney disease throughout Manitoba.
