The Kidney Foundation’s Ontario Branch Launches New Electronic 50/50 Raffle

New lottery will raise much needed funds to support programs and services

The Kidney Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a new 50/50 online raffle to raise funds to support The Foundation’s programs and services.

“At a time when we are all learning to adapt to the changing world around us, we also find ourselves adapting to find new ways for Ontarians to show their support for their friends and neighbours living with kidney disease,” said Anthony Tirone, Kidney Foundation Ontario Director, Philanthropy and Community Development. “With so many of our usual activities suspended or delayed, we’re excited to launch our first online 50/50 raffle to raise funds virtually to support our programs and services.”

The current COVID-19 health crisis has had an impact in every facet of life and it continues to have the greatest impact on the most vulnerable segments of the population, including Canadians living with kidney failure. The Kidney Foundation has seen a sharp increase in demand for programs and services while at the same time a reduction in donations because many of the Foundation’s regular face-to-face fundraising events have had to be cancelled or postponed.

Tickets for the 50/50 draw can be purchased from the comfort of home at www.kidney5050.ca . Your purchase will help generate much needed funds to support The Foundation’s short-term financial assistance and peer support programs, two of the programs that have seen the most significant increase.

The first raffle will launch on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 with the first draw at 12:01pm on June 17, 2020. Tickets are $10 for 10 numbers and $20 for 50 numbers and can be purchased online at kidney5050.ca. Participants must be physically located in the Province of Ontario to buy a raffle ticket.

Full prize rules are available at www.kidney5050.ca.
