Ontario Kidney Surpasses Walk Goal Raising over $966,000

The kidney community stepped up across Ontario this September for The Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Walk.  Participants raised over $966,000, crushing the $725,000 goal, to invest in high-caliber research and crucial support programs to support people living with kidney disease and their loved ones.

“The walk is the highlight of the year for many of us, and the opportunity to connect in-person once again was moving. New relationships were forged as we welcomed new families to our kidney community, and older friendships were renewed.“ said Anthony Tirone, Executive Director of The Kidney Foundation’s Ontario Branch. “The strength and commitment of our kidney community is truly amazing. We are truly overwhelmed by the support of our kidney walkers and their many donors” he added.

Twenty-eight walks were held across the province, and additional teams connected to walk virtually in their community. It was truly inspiring to see so many families, friends and partners in renal care show their commitment and support for their loved ones and support the work of the Foundation.

The walks would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of our kidney community. Thank you to national partner Otsuka Canada Pharmaceutical Inc., national supporter Horizon, provincial sponsor Janssen Pharmaceuticals and AIM-Kenny U-Pull and provincial media sponsor YESTV as well as the many community sponsors who supported this initiative.
