A Virtual Success! Ontario Kidney Walk Raises over $830,000

October 5 – The kidney community stepped up with strength, hope and courage in communities across Ontario on September 26th and raised over $830,000 to invest in high-caliber research and crucial support programs.

“We are truly overwhelmed by the amazing support of our kidney walkers and their many donors” said Norman Muirhead, President of The Kidney Foundation’s Ontario Branch. “While we couldn’t gather in person again this year, the Kidney Walk spirit was strong! It was truly inspiring to see so many families, friends and partners in renal care show such tremendous support for their loved ones living with kidney disease,” he added.

With no in-person events, walk teams were encouraged to walk in their communities wearing their Kidney Walk t-shirts with pride. Over 180 walkers reached Champion status. They each raised over $1000 and could be spotted in their black walk shirts.

The walks would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of our kidney community.
