Dr. David Z. Levine

For his outstanding research career spanning over 25 years and his numerous achievements in nephrology, Dr. David Z. Levine is the winner of The Kidney Foundation of Canada’s 1996 Medal for Research Excellence.

Dr. Levine’s unique expertise in renal physiology and in disorders of electrolyte and water metabolism has advanced international knowledge in these critical areas. Widely published in prestigious scientific journals, he has also written and edited an important book on care of the renal patient, bringing basic science to the bedside and underscoring his careful attention to the needs of individuals living with kidney disease.
