National Living Donation Week

From September 10– 16, organizations across Canada come together to shine a spotlight on donors, recipients, and supporters of living donor kidney and liver transplants.

Many Canadians are not aware of living donation, which changes the lives for hundreds in people in our communities. Living organ donation offers a shorter pathway to better health with a considerably shorter wait time and better health outcomes than a deceased donor transplant.

The BCY Branch is excited to share a special episode of Kidney PLUGGED IN, where Diana Dunlop—one of the oldest anonymous living donors in BC at age 77—shares what motivated this selfless act.

Diana sat down with Kate Chong, Director of Programs at the BC & Yukon Branch, to talk about her experience. Kate herself is a transplant recipient from a living kidney donor who received a kidney from her husband. Kate and Diana shared a unique and memorable conversation that only a transplant recipient and living kidney donor can share. It's a passionate interview that you don't want to miss.
