Speakers

Dr. Micheli (Mike) Bevilacqua is a nephrologist based in Surrey, BC and is involved in several administrative roles with BC Renal. He is the chair of the Kidney Care Committee, which oversees the care of more than 15,000 British Columbians living with chronic kidney disease; is the medical lead for the BC Polycystic Kidney Disease Network, which aims to optimize the management of PKD in BC; and also co-chair of the Transplant First Committee that aims to improve access to living donor kidney transplantation.

Dr. Megan Borkum is a nephrologist who trained at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She completed a research fellowship in hypertension at University College London, and an advanced nephrology training fellowship and home dialysis fellowship from 2021-2022 in Vancouver. She is currently working as a clinical research fellow for BC Renal. Her clinical and research interests include home dialysis therapies, cardiovascular and metabolic risk reduction and improving life participation for patients with CKD and patients on dialysis.
