Anne Huang is celebrating 8 weeks since her successful kidney transplant! As someone who has been living with kidney disease since she was 21 years old, Anne is well versed in the importance of keeping up to date with her vaccines.

However, now that she has a new kidney she's finding navigating the world of vaccines as a transplant patient, more complicated.

Anne lives in the Yukon's Boreal forest with her husband Ben, and enjoys volunteering as a member of the Board of Directors for the Kidney Foundation of BC & Yukon branch.

Chandni Sehgal

Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Chandni Sehgal is a Clinical Pharmacist with a background in Biochemistry and a Pharmacy degree from Dalhousie University. After completing a pharmacy residency at The Ottawa Hospital in 2021, she began her career in orthopedic surgery before pursuing her passion for kidney transplant medicine.

Since 2023, Chandni has worked at the QEII Health Sciences Centre’s outpatient kidney transplant clinic, where she supports patient care and the multi-organ transplant program. She is also active in transplant research and protocol development.

A true Maritimer, Chandni loves food and life by the ocean. She brings clinical expertise, patient-centered care, and a drive to advance kidney transplantation.

Dr. Deepali Kumar

Dr. Deepali Kumar, MD, MSc, FRCPC, FAST is a Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto, and Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases at the University Health Network, Ajmera Transplant Center in Toronto, Canada.

Her clinical and research interests focus on infections in transplant recipients including the impact of viruses and vaccines in the transplant population especially COVID-19. Dr. Kumar has published over 250 scientific papers and mentored many trainees. She is currently the Immediate Past-President of the American Society of Transplantation, and Chair of the Canadian Standards Association Committee on Cells, Tissues, Organ Transplantation.
