Dr. Istvan Mucsi

Dr. Mucsi is a clinician investigator, transplant nephrologist at the Multi-Organ Transplant Program and Division of Nephrology at the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto. His current research focuses on understanding and reducing barriers and disparities in access to kidney transplantation and living donor kidney transplantation (KT) and assessing the impact of psycho-social distress on clinical outcomes of kidney transplant recipients.
 

Dr. Vikas Srinivasan Sridhar

Dr. Vikas S. Sridhar MD, FRCPC completed his medical school at McMaster University. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at McGill University followed by specialty training in adult Nephrology at the University of Toronto. He is currently completing a Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital and is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto with a focus on Cardio-renal protection in transplantation.
 

Dr. Deepali Kumar

Dr. Deepali Kumar is Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto.  She is attending physician in the Multi-Organ Transplant Program, Transplant Infectious Diseases service at University Health Network.  She obtained her medical degree from the University of Ottawa and did infectious disease training at the University of California-San Diego and McMaster University. She further did a Masters degree with a focus in transplantation at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Kumar has a translational research program that consists of both clinical and laboratory-based research.  Her research focuses on immunologic responses to viral infections and vaccines in transplant recipients.  She has performed several investigator-initiated and industry clinical trials in transplantation and supervised numerous graduate students and medical residents/fellows.  Dr. Kumar has authored over 175 manuscripts, editorials, and book chapters in the field of transplantation.  For her research she has been a recipient of the American Society of Transplantation Clinical Investigator Award (2018) and the Royal College Gold Medal in Medicine (2010). She is Editor-in-chief of The AST Handbook of Transplant Infections and Associate Editor of the 4th AST Transplant ID Guidelines.
