Kidney disease can put financial stress on people whose kidneys have failed. In many cases, it is difficult to work during transitions to dialysis or transplant. 

When other options have been exhausted, short-term financial assistance may be available to people living with kidney disease. This transitional assistance is designed to help offset the cost of medications, interim health insurance, accommodation, meals, transportation, and other medical expenses.
