Ontario Kidney Walk Surpasses One Million Dollars

For the third year in a row, the kidney community rallied together in a big way across the province raising over $1,182,000, crushing this year’s goal of $900,000.

Kidney Walks took place in 28 communities across Ontario, in addition to multiple teams organizing their own virtual Kidney Walks in locations of their choice.

“We welcomed the smiling faces of both long-time supporters and new participants to the walks this September,” says Anthony Tirone, Ontario Branch Executive Director. “It truly is the strength of the kidney community that makes these walks as special and successful as they are.”

The walks bring friends, families and renal professionals together in a show of support for their loved ones living with kidney disease. They donate to their fundraising campaigns and attend walk events in solidarity to show their support and help build a better future for all Canadians living with kidney disease.

“We are extremely grateful to all our walk participants, donors, sponsors, volunteers and staff who help make the Kidney Walks bigger and better every year. As a result of everyone’s commitment and dedication, we are well-positioned to continue to deliver real-time support through innovative programs, invest in life-saving kidney research, and advocate for those impacted by kidney disease,” says Tirone.

Twenty-eight individuals became inaugural members of the Kidney Walk Pinnacle Club each raising over $5000. In addition, over 200 individuals raised over $1000 each and were recognized as Kidney Walk Champions. Check out the Ontario Kidney Walk website for a complete list of honorees.

The walks are proudly sponsored by national partner Otsuka Canada Pharmaceutical Inc., national media sponsor YES TV and provincial sponsors Kenny U-Pull, The Printing House, and EVA Air.
