Kidney 50/50 enables The Kidney Foundation to provide help and hope

The Kidney Foundation launched their annual Kidney 50/50 raffle in Ontario just in time for the holiday season.

“Since we started hosting 50/50 draws in 2020, we have raised over $204,000 to support Ontarians living with kidney disease,” says Anthony Tirone, Ontario Branch Executive Director. “This raffle makes it possible to deliver critical support programs that help people living with kidney disease live their best lives.”

Ticket sales begin on November 14 at 9:00am and will close on December 1 at 11:59pm with the grand prize draw happening on December 2 at 12:30pm. To be eligible for the early bird draw of $500 on November 20 at 12:30pm, tickets must be purchased by November 19 at 11:59pm.

The guaranteed minimum prize is $5,000 and ticket prices are $10 for 5 tickets, $20 for 30 tickets, $40 for 100 tickets and $75 for 250 tickets. Tickets are sold exclusively online at kidney5050.ca. Last year’s winner took home over $22,000.

“Kidney 50/50 is an easy way to show your support during the busy holiday season,” said Tirone. “Simply purchase your tickets online and know that half the money will be bettering the lives of Canadians with kidney disease while the lucky winner will have the opportunity to splurge on whatever they wish!”

In addition to significant investments in research, funds from this draw will support The Kidney Foundation’s peer support program, as an example. In 2024, Ontario held 236 peer support meetings with 1,921 individuals in attendance and made 1,114 direct peer support matches. Peer support provides important emotional support to people living with kidney disease by assuring them that they are not alone in their journey.

Raffle purchasers must be physically located in the Province of Ontario to buy a 50/50 ticket and over the age of 18. Full prize rules are available at www.kidney5050.ca. Lottery License #: RAF1489953
