2023 was a year of incredible highs. Our community came together in new and collaborative ways, proving that now more than ever Manitobans see the need for services provided by The Kidney Foundation.

We had community members host new and repeat fundraisers in support of us, with impressive results to say the least. Thank you to Chamois Car Wash, the McClaren family, Janan Zeid, Nicole Black, and everyone else who hosted a fundraiser in 2023.

At the Kidney Walk, not only did you raise a whopping $126,803.75, but we had countless new attendees walk with us for the first time. A special thanks to our participants, volunteers, donors, Champions, and sponsors for making the 10th annual Kidney Walk a success.

Because of your support, we were able to help kidney patients in a bigger way:

• Approved over 400 requests for financial assistance, distributing more than $80,000 so that patients could afford their medications, groceries, and more;
• Provided two monthly Peer Support sessions that helped over 50 patients and their families connect with one another;
• Sent 12 children to Kidney Camp, where doctors and nurses stayed on site to ensure they took their medications, received enough fluids, and went to dialysis appointments;
• Invested in many Canadian research studies focused on kidney disease;
• Created new and exciting recipes to lead a renal-friendly diet on kidneycommunitykitchen.ca;
• Raised awareness for organ transplant and kidney disease;
• And so much more!
